Pretty in Pink | My Favourite Pink Lipsticks

I've always been a fan of pink when it comes to choosing lipsticks. I think it is such a wearable colour and there are so many shades and finishes to choose from nowadays, that you are almost always able to find a pink lipstick that suits your complexion, skin tone and taste. Don't get me wrong, I do love a bright red or vampy berry tones, however, I often find myself buying subtler colours because I know I will get a lot more use from a pretty pink than a bright red day to day.

I've decided to put together four of my most worn pink lipsticks just in case anyone fancied adding another to their overflowing collection of pink lipsticks. Here goes...

First up is MAC's 'Please me', (Bottom swatch) - which for some reason looks a lot more pinker in the photograph. I would describe 'Please me' as a muted pink matte lipstick with slight purple undertones. It was my first ever MAC lipstick and was in love at first use and still am. I think its a great wearable pink, however due to its matte formulation it can become quite drying on your lips so preparation is key because you apply. £15.50 from MAC stores. Secondly is L'oreal Collection Privee Lipstick in Julianne's Nude, (Second swatch from the bottom). This is the lipstick I carry around in my bag everyday. It's the most subtle of all the pinks as it provides a light pink glossy sheen to the lips when it is applied. It's a great subtle lipstick for everyday wear. Can be found in Boots/Superdrug for £7.99. Next up is Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in 16, (Third swatch from the bottom). I would describe this pink as more of a salmon pink rather than a bright pink. It's quite understated and provides a matte finish on the lips. It's an ideal colour to wear if you are after a bright coral for summer but are a bit scared of going straight in with such a bright colour - this is the lipstick to buy to try out and why not as its a bargain at only £5.49 (at Boots.com). Last but not least is No.7 Moisture Drench lipstick in 'Mulberry', (Top swatch). I always think I look very mature when I wear this lipstick (haha). It is a darker toned pink than the others I have spoken about - more of a deep berry pink. I think it is more of a winter colour however, it feels amazing on the lips. It has a moisturising formula which makes it extremely comfortable to wear. It has superb lasting power, which is unusual for formulations which aren't totally matte. I also adore the shape of the packaging on this one too, it's pretty unusual. You can grab this beauty from Boots stores or online for £9.95.

So there we go, a small handful of some of my favourite pink lipsticks. What are some of your favourite pink lipsticks? Can your recommend me some?

Hope you enjoyed the post!

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser - Worth the Hype?

P1020463 P1020464 P1020466

Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser has in previous years been described as a 'cult' product and is a holy grail cleanser for many people. I have heard so many people rave about this cleanser and how amazing it is. I'm a sucker for a good review and so I thought I better give it a try. At first I was concerned as it is a cream cleanser and I have particularly oily skin, I was worried it would make my skin even more oily. To try out, I ordered the 50ml bottle with pump and muslin cloth which also came with a handy little pouch and a 6- step instruction guide outlining how to go about using the cleanser correctly in order to produce the best results. I followed the step by step instructions and at first found my skin feeling refreshed and revived. I continued use for about a month, however after a while I found my skin was beginning to get oilier when I didn't have makeup on and after I had washed the cleanser off, I found that it was leaving a greasy residue on my skin. Considering this cleanser says it is appropriate for all skin types, I felt a little disappointed seen as it had been raved about so much.

I would definitely recommend this cleanser for people who have dry skin as I think it would give your skin incredible moisture and leave it feeling plump and soft. However, I don't think this cleanser really suits others with oily prone skin and I'm not really sure it's worth the hype that surrounds it.

I really wanted to love Liz Earle's cleanser but it just wasn't for me. Not to worry it didn't go to waste as I passed it along to my mum who does suffer from dry skin and she absolutely LOVES it!

Let me know what you think of Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish?

My New Found Love | MAC Patisserie

There is nothing better than having a go-to lipstick you can apply everyday and it goes with any look. MAC 'Patisserie' is my go to Nude lipstick without a doubt. I was lucky enough to receive this lipstick as a Christmas present from my lovely boyfriend and I have worn it pretty much every day since. 'Patisserie' is a lustre finish with a slight moisturising feel when it is applied to the lips. It's easy to apply and an ideal nude shade that you can wear every day for a natural look. It is a comfortable lipstick to wear however, it looks quite red toned in the first photograph but it is much more nude/pink - definitely a 'your lips but better' lipstick. I would definitely recommend adding this lipstick to your collection if you haven't yet as it's such a wearable lipstick, you'll love it just as much as I do!

Let me know what MAC lipstick is your go-to nude?

My January No Spend Challenge

After the splurging and spending that happens at Christmas, everyone tries to tighten their belts and stop spending so much money in January. I have given myself the task to do exactly that - Not spend money on unnecessary items (clothes, make-up etc). Being the shopping addict that I am, ashamedly I know I am going to find this task tough. I'm doing well so far (haha even though I'm only 5 days into January) but my boyfriend and I have decided to attempt this task together so I have him for support and he's pretty good at saving and being sensible with his money and keeping me level- headed with my purchases. So, this is sort of a new years resolution but more like a January resolution haha.

Let me know if you are attempting to do this? And how is it going so far? As we make our way through January, I'll try and keep you all updated on my success or failure (hope not!).

Favourite Perfumes of 2014

In 2014, I discovered some beautiful scents that I wore almost everyday. I wanted to share with you three of my favourites because I am so in love with them! I am by no means a perfume expert so please be aware that my perfume describing skills are not fantastic but I try my best to describe each scent as best and as honestly as I can.

First of the 3 is, Vera Wang Lovestruck 30ml Eau de Parfum. I was lucky enough to receive this scent as a birthday present from my nan on my birthday last year. It is quite a sweet smelling fragrance but isn't too overwhelming as I dislike very sweet perfumes. I think the bottle looks beautiful and I adore the rose lid with the pink netting. The liquid inside is a very pale pink and this scent is an ideal scent for everyday wear as it isn't too strong and over powering. It's a really summery scent!

Secondly is Jimmy Choo 40 ml Eau de Parfum. Again, I was extremely fortunate to have received this perfume as a birthday gift from my mother and sister on my 21st. I first smelled this perfume on a friend and fell in love. The scent is described to have sweet orange, pear nectar, tiger orchid, Indonesian patchouli and caramel notes. I think this perfume is beautiful, the scent and packaging with a tinted pink round glass bottle with small indentations. This scent is sweet yet subtle and ideal for night time wear. I absolutely adore it!

And last but not least my favourite perfume of all is ALIEN by Thierry Mugler 30ml Eau de Parfum. Last Christmas my boyfriend bought me this perfume after dragging him into Debenhams numerous times to test it, smell it and take in its amazing fragrance. This is my holy grail perfume. I absolutely adore it. It's described  as having a woody fragrance with amber and jasmine notes. It's like no other perfume I have ever smelt before. The bottle is on point - a deep purple glass bottle with sharp clean edges and outlined in gold. I will always be re-purchasing this one!

Hope you enjoyed reading about my favourite perfumes, let me know some of your favourites? I'd love to try some new scents for 2015!
